Waterloo Region District School Board
Scope: to produce collateral for a wide variety of programs and purposes, and to have them effectively communicate information to the intended viewer. WRDSB was an ongoing client and I was able to work on many graphic design projects for them, see a sampling below.
Deliverables: infographic poster, planner pages, booklet, event display, ad and graphic.
Infographic design — inclement poster design
This infographic poster, sized at 11” x 17”, was requested as a piece that could be hung in schools to inform staff of the inclement weather procedures. I custom created the visual elements, using various stock images as a starting point.
Editorial design — planner pages
This project was to design school planner pages, for youth and teens. Printed in b&w, the pages were located before and after the calendar portion. My approach was to create a striking and textured look — the unique photo treatment and hand-painted elements add visual interest.
Editorial design and illustration — planner pages
Here is a spread of planner pages with custom illustrations. The equality vs equity (left), uses a stock image as a base, which I customized and then created the 8 character illustrations (right), following the same style. The expressive characters enhance the meaning behind the stress coping suggestions.
Ad design — newspaper
I used the established branding elements — the logo and the “swoops” — to create a simple, and easy to digest ad.
Editorial design — kindergarten booklet
The Kindergarten booklet was designed to be friendly, inviting, and engaging to parents, who would be sending their children to school, in some cases, for the first time.

Open house event — life size stand-ups
I created these life size stands for a Kindergarten open house event. Each stand has a cheerful child with an easy to read number, to indicate the five stations. I designed the stands to have the child overlap a large rectangular background to ensure a strong structure. The backgrounds provided an opportunity to inject unique and fun graphic treatments for each die-cut kid stand.
Infographic design
This custom graphic was created to convey how the pillars of trust, service, and relationships lead to improved student achievement and well being. I created a few design options, refined with feedback from the client and this was the final result.
